Description

Born in Limousin, France to a family of substance.
In this religious/military career, Odo was extremely successfyl earning the titles “Master of Jerusalem” and “Viscount”.
Odo de St. Amand became the 8th Grand Master of the Knights Templar 1171-1179 and was a forceful and energetic Templar header.
St. Armand was successful in his Templar battles with Saladin’s Saracen armies. His military skills were utilized in the construction of the Chastellet fortress which withstood many Saracen attempts to conquer it.
In 1179, St. Amand’s knights suffered a substantial loss to Saladin’s army, where Grand Master St. Amand was captured and taken hostage. Odo St. Amand died in captivity some time in 1180.
