Mongol General Hulegu w/Horsehair Standard and Heads
Product Description
Grandson of Genghis Khan and brother of Kublai and Mongke Khan, Hulegu was born in 1217, a prince in the Mongol ruling class. Hulegu would make his mark in Mongol history as the brilliant general who conquered most of the Middle East, founding the Mongol Il-Khan Empire out of Persia, Syria and Anatolia. His conquest of the Middle Eastern territories stalled when he was forced to return to Karakorum at the death of his brother the Great Khan Mongke. The subsequent division of the Mongol empire saw Hulegu ruling his Khanate from Tabriz until his death in 1265.
