King Henry V in his campaigns in France could rely heavily on three great commanders: Salisbury, Bedford and Warwick. Richard Beauchamp, Duke of Warwick, by the time of the war in France, had accumulated a great variety of military experience. Warwick had fought against Owen Glyndwr, made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, fought with the Teutonic knights in Prussia, served the Doge in Venice, and fought in innumerable tournaments, including a ferocious duel on foot against Pandolfo Malatesta. Richard Beauchamp, Duke of Warwick died in 1439.
