Son of Hagues de Chatillon and was a member of the clan that ruled St. Pol and Dumpierre. Sir Jacques with a distinguished martial record was made Admiral of France, equivalent to Constable of France, from 1408-1410.
At the battle of Agincourt in 1415 Jacques de Chatillon met his end, under the command of Charles d’Albret the Constable of France, with the Lord Marshal Boucicault and the Dukes of Alencon and Richmond, all of whom were killed or captured at this great battle.
