The Christian Victory of the First Crusade 1096-1099 opens at the time of the Seljuk decline and Pope Urban’s call to crusade to recapture Jerusalem and the Holy Land. The reader is introduced to Raymond of Toulouse, Godfrey of Bouillon, Baldwin of Boulogne, Bohemond of Otranto, Tancred de Hautevile, Peter the Hermit and the Peasants’ Crusade following the Siege of Nicaca, the Battle of Dorylaeum approaching the Siege of Antioch and then on to Jerusalem.

Since given a book on King Arthur and his knights one Christmas long ago in Manila, Yli Remo Vallejo has had a lifelong obsession with medieval history. Though he holds a doctorate in organic chemistry and has built a successful career in biotechnology, his free time is devoted to the pursuit of this passion and various others. He is also a published scale modeler and an accomplished musician. He lives with his wife and family in Newark, Delaware.
